Refund Policy

Who this policy applies to

This policy applies to tenants in Ontario who have paid the one-time activation fee for a Briidge rent payment guarantee. It covers refunds of that activation fee only. It does not apply to landlords, to monthly rent payments, or to any other Briidge service.

1. When coverage begins

Coverage begins on the first date Briidge guarantees your rent payment to a landlord who has accepted the guarantee. Until that date, the fee you paid is treated as a pre-approval activation, not as live coverage.

2. Validity of your pre-approval

Your pre-approval is valid for 30 days from the date of payment. During this period you can present your Briidge guarantee to as many landlords as you need.

3. Full refund if no landlord accepts

If no landlord accepts the guarantee within your 30 day validity period, you may request a full refund. Refund requests must be made within 5 business days of the end of the validity period by emailing hello@usebriidge.com.

4. Cancellation within 48 hours

If you cancel within 48 hours of payment, and before presenting your guarantee to any landlord, you will receive a full refund within 5 business days.

5. Cancellation after 48 hours, before coverage begins

If you cancel after 48 hours but before a landlord has accepted and coverage has started, a CAD 35 administrative fee applies. The balance is refunded within 5 business days.

6. Non-refundable once coverage starts

Once a landlord has accepted the guarantee and coverage has started, the fee is non-refundable. This is the point at which Briidge takes on the financial risk on your behalf.

7. How to request a refund

Email hello@usebriidge.com from the address on your application with your guarantee ID. Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method within 5 business days.

8. Your statutory rights

Nothing in this policy limits any rights you have under Ontario consumer protection law or other applicable Canadian law.

Briidge is not a licensed insurer. Our rent payment guarantee is a contractual service agreement between Briidge, the tenant, and the landlord. It does not constitute insurance under the Ontario Insurance Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. I.8.
